IP Changes in Dallas, TX
Scheduled Maintenance - IP Changes in Dallas, TX
On May 7th at 12:00 PM CST, we will be changing all IP addresses in Dallas, TX to our newly leased /24 subnet. Swapping our IP addresses to the new subnet allows for future scalability without affecting our operating costs as much as leasing smaller IP blocks from our network upstream providers. As a result, your service will not be reachable during this time. If your IP address starts with 199.119.136.X, you may disregard this message completely. Why are you making these changes?
Being in control of our own IP subnet removes the worry of any possible upstream reassignments that could disrupt service availability or require emergency reconfiguration. This transition ensures both long-term stability and autonomy over our network infrastructure. Additionally, leasing a larger subnet block outside of our network upstream helps lower our operating expenses to provide you with the same competitive rate in a market where costs continue to rise. What is required of me after the change?
If you use the assigned IP:Port allocation for connections, you will need to check the control panel after the maintenance for your new IP address. Your port allocations will remain the same.If you use your own domain for connections, you must point the A record of your domain to the newly assigned IP address.
If you use our complimentary subdomains for connections, the DNS records will automatically update to the new IP address but this may take time to propagate globally.
Can I swap IPs before the maintenance date?
Yes, please contact our support team if you would like to make the change sooner.Thank you for your understanding while we conduct this change. We understand how inconvenient changing IP addresses can be but rest assured that this is the final planned IP change in Dallas, TX.
